Description

Timex Group B.V. is one of the best-known American watch companies. Timex's U.S. headquarters are located in Middlebury Connecticut and it has substantial operations in China, the Philippines and India and full scale sales companies in Canada, the UK, France and Mexico. The company began in 1854 as Waterbury Clock in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, known during the nineteenth century as the "Switzerland of America." Sister company Waterbury Watch manufactured the first inexpensive mechanical pocket watch in 1880. During World War I, Waterbury began making wristwatches, which had only just become popular, and in 1933 it made history by creating the first Mickey Mouse clock under license from Walt Disney, with Mickey's hands pointing the time.During World War II, Waterbury renamed itself U.S. Time Company. In 1950 the company introduced a wristwatch called the Timex. Over the next three decades, Timex was sold through a series of advertisements which emphasized its durability by putting the watch through "torture tests," such as falling over the Grand Coulee Dam or being strapped to the propeller of an outboard motor, with the slogan "It takes a licking and keeps on ticking." With the help of former Olympic broadcaster, spokesman John Cameron Swayze, sales took off. The company later became Timex Corporation, then Timex Group and, to date, has sold over one billion watches. The company has remained very competitive and the Timex brand continues its dominance through present day. Its primary market remains the United States and Canada, although the Timex brand is sold worldwide due to its ability to capitalize on its strong brand image and reputation for quality. One of the most successful and important features available on many Timex watches is the Indiglo backlight system. Indiglo is a brand name of Indiglo Corporation, solely owned by Timex for licensing purposes. Timex electroluminescent lamps, branded Indiglo, were introduced in 1992 in the Ironman watch line. They were an immediate success. The Indiglo lamp uniformly lights the surface of the Timex’s watch dials in a manner that makes the dial read very easily in many different light settings. In some newer watches the Indiglo backlight only lights up the numbers, rather than the entire LCD display, which is achieved by means of a specialized film that inverts the LCD transmissivity.Today, Timex Group products are manufactured in the Far East and in Switzerland often based on technology that continues to be developed in the United States and in Germany. With a large and varied line of watches, Timex has the style for everyone. From the locker room to the board room, there is a great Timex style time-piece for you. Add an artful touch to any ensemble with the Timex Women's T2P385 Crystal Multi-Function White Leather Strap Watch. This watch features a round silver-tone case with a top ring embellished by multi-colored genuine Swarovski crystals. This timepiece is water resistant up to 165 feet (50 meters).

This is a beautiful watch! I have been wanting a white watch for a while, but I didn't want it to be plain white, so I knew this one would be perfect when I saw it with all of the colorful crystals. I was also happy to discover that the leather band is pearl white and not flat white. I have a 6 inch wrist, so here is a picture of how it will look on a smaller wrist because this watch does have a larger case. This watch looks great with jeans and a colorful shirt. You won't be disappointed!I bought this watch to wear at work where I don't want to ruin my nice fossil watch. It looked great when I first bought it and the multifunction capabilities are nice. However, the glass face of the watch cracked within a few months of use and it's no longer water resistant. Also the white band discolored very quickly and now constantly looks dirty despite my best efforts to clean it again. It has now officially died and I've owned it for about 9 months. Its a very pretty watch. But I'm here to warn you that the photograph here is a close up photograph of the watch. It gives an impression that the watch dial is somewhere between 42 - 44 MM however it is barely 39 MM. That was really disheartening!Watch is very pretty however neither it is a large dial nor it has the Indiglo Nightlight (It was never advertized as one so no misleading there)!Be very sure that you're okay with a medi size dial watch. If you are, do go for it then!My mother in law was happy. It appears to be of quality construction when I saw it. Oh and it really does look smaller in person but still nice.I got my timex watch to be an everyday comfy watch. It reached all my expectations and was very excited until it recieved a pen mark and i tried to remove the ink..... i listened to online advice and used hairspray, rubbing alchohol, soup and water. The pen mark left but the strap is made of very cheaply material that the white weared off and now it has black and it is ruined. If i had a better quality strap i would of love the actual watch.Having had purely functional watches for years, this is my first pretty one, and I love it. My only gripe with it was that after checking it out on Amazon and on the Timex website itself, I was under the impression that it had Indiglo (the night light function) which I find phenomenally useful. It doesn't have this, which is a bummer. I will be keeping the watch because I love the pretty, but it would be perfect if Timex put Indiglo on it too!A beautiful watch, although a little large for a woman's wrist. Love the crystals and extra "gauges". Nice 2 year warranty, too. Strap has 2 loops so in case one breaks down the line there's a back up! Highly recommend this watch.while very pretty, it is hard to read. i still like the style.A+
